Beaded jewelry tutorials for beginners

About

Delicias Saborosas is a free resource for learning to make beaded jewelry. Every tutorial and guide on the site is written for people who are stringing their first bracelet, or who made one that came out too tight, too loose or came apart at the knot and want to understand why.

What you will find here

  • Beginner guides that explain the fundamentals: bead types and sizes, which stringing material suits which bead, the few tools worth having and how to keep beads organized.
  • Projects written out step by step: stretch bracelets, strung bracelets and necklaces with a clasp, pendants, simple earrings and small beaded rings.
  • Technique and finishing guides for the parts every piece shares: measuring, choosing colors, threading a needle, knots, crimps, clasps and jump rings.

If you are new, the best place to begin is Beading for Beginners, followed by the bead size guide. Projects that need the fewest tools are collected under Easy Jewelry, and the full list of articles is on the Tutorials page.

How the tutorials are written

Each project lists the beads, stringing material and findings at the top, states a finished size and explains how to change it. Bead counts are worked out from the length of the piece and the size of the beads, and the sum is shown so you can redo it for your own measurement. Lengths are given in inches with metric equivalents, and bead sizes in millimeters.

The projects are original instructions built from standard techniques: stringing, knots, crimps, simple wire loops and basic bead-weaving stitches. They were written and checked by arithmetic rather than made up as samples, so quantities and times are estimates. Beads vary from one maker to another; lay your beads against a ruler before you cut, and buy a few spares.

The illustrations on this site are simplified drawings made to show bead layouts, thread paths, tools and findings. They are diagrams, not photographs of finished jewelry.

We do not publish invented reviews, ratings or testimonials, and we do not recommend brands. We also do not make claims about how metals or other materials behave on skin. If you have sensitive skin, check what a finding is made of before you buy it.
